Dr. Rocchio specializes in Conservative and Surgical Correction of this condition.
In the child, flat foot deformity is mostly very flexible and responds best to early
treatment. Flat foot deformity in children can come with foot & ankle pain. But
what is more difficult to identify are the symptoms that the child has suffered
with and known their entire life. These are negative signs of a larger problem
that can include knee pain, quick fatigue, or a child that seems to choose
sedentary activity over running, etc.
In rare cases the child’s flat foot will be rigid, many times due to an
unwanted fusion of 2 of the bones in the foot called a tarsal coalition.
In Adult Acquired Flat Food the deformity may be more rigid.
Early exam is stressed due to the progressing arthritis
that will hinder conservative treatment options.
Dr. Rocchio is Board Certified in not only
foot surgery, but also
in reconstructive foot
and ankle surgery by
the American Board of
Podiatric Surgery. New
patients evaluations
and second opinions
welcome.
